01. Hologram Stripe
Hologram (OVD : Optically Variable Device)
On the top, middle and bottom of the stripe, are three sets of changing images, 'map of Korea', 'taegeuk', and 'the four trigrams'. When the note is tilted, each of them appears in turn.
02. Moving images in the windowed thread ('MOTION')
Color-shifting Ink
The taegeuk pattern on the thread moves from side to side when the note is tilted up and down, while moving up and down when the note is tilted from side to side.
03. Novel Numbering
Intaglio Latent Image
The size of the serial numbers at the top left side and bottom right side of the obverse increases gradually as they proceed from left to right.
04. Color Shifting Ink
Security Thread
When the note is tilted, the color of the denomination changes from magenta to green.
05. Multi-tonal and Highlight Watermark
See-through Register
Held up to the light, a hidden portrait of 'Shin Saimdang' and the figure '5' within the pentagon appear on the left part of the obverse.
06. Intaglio Latent Image

When the note is tilted, the latent number '5' appears.
07. See-through Register
Micro Lettering
Held up to the light, a complete 'taegeuk' appears, combining the images printed on the obverse and reverse of the note.
08. Tactile marks ('Intaglio endless pattern')
SPAS : Special Press and Soldering
The marks are adopted to assist the visually impaired in recognizing the denomination. Each mark is composed of 5 intaglio printed lines.

Micro letterings can be seen by using a magnifier. It looks like a dotted line when forged by a color printer or a color copier.

Watermark Bar
The fluorescent fiber can be seen under ultraviolet light. It is possible to see three kinds of fluorescent fiber scattered on the note.

Held up to the light, embedded characters and figures “한국은행 BANK OF KOREA 50000” can be seen.
12. Rainbow Printing
Endless Pattern
As one of printing methods which uses different inks on one printing plate, the inks are mixed naturally. So, the rainbow effect appears on the note.
