Since becoming regular member of the PRBPC (Pacific Rim Banknote Printers' Conference) in 1985 to boost its international status and exchanges of information, KOMSCO has earned the membership or the observer status in eight security printing and minting related international organizations. The corporation hopes to host international conferences and promote information exchange to increase cooperation with world security printing and minting related organizations.
In addition, there are Federation Internationale de la Medaille, KOMSCO is in action of such International Conferences as follows. PRBPC is composed of producers and issuers from the member countries on the Pacific Ocean. And KOMSCO became a member of MDC(Mint Directors' Conference) and GPSPA(Government Postage Stamp Printers' Association) in 1986. In addition, there are TEMAN(Technical Meeting of Mints in ASEAN), ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization), CC(Currency Conference), EBC(European Banknote Conference), BC(Banknote Conference) and so on.
The 11th PRBPC hosted in Seoul and Gyeongju by KOMSCO in 1993 was evaluated high as the most successful conference. KOMSCO also hosted the 9th GPSPC in 2002, and the 25th MDC in 2008.
Especially, KOMSCO was presented awards of excellence in 3 Categories among 6 Categories of the Stamp Award Program in the 9th GPSPC, which are Best Offset Stamp, Best Combination Stamp and Best Unique or Innovative Stamp in the 10th GPSPC. KOMSCO also gains the recognition from the world postage stamp printers by taking Regularity prize that is given to the country with most high scores in the 11th GPSPC. Besides, World Cup Gold Coin to Commemorate historical Korea-Japan World Cup and silver coin of the 560th Hangeul day were awarded the Most Beautiful Coin and the Most Technically Advanced Coin in the Coin Competition of the 22th and 25th respectively.
These awards are the evidence that our technology is the highest level in the field of security printing and minting. It is expected to make great contributions to increase the annual income through the export.
